St. Hildegard's Illuminations

Hildegard's Illuminations are an integral part of her work Scivias, which contains 26 visions and 35 illuminations of a symbolic nature. Hildegard uses Christian theological allegory and iconographic symbolism, which she complements with her own originality and creativity. In the work, she deals with theological themes that explain the life of the Holy Trinity, man and his life in relation to God, nature and himself, the Church as a community of believers, and the end times.
